Suicidal Ideation or Thoughts of Suicide
"To that one soul reading this: I know you’re tired, you’re fed up, you’re close to breaking, but there’s strength within you, even when you feel weak. Keep fighting!”
Suicide is the 12th leading cause of death in the United States. 45,979 Americans died by suicide in 2020 alone. Currently, there are approximately 130 suicides per day and approximately 1.20 million suicide attempts. As you can see from the above slides, suicide can happen with people from all walks of life. If you or a family member or friend is struggling with suicidal thoughts, has a plan in place to act, and is in crisis, please reach out to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

"If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person"--Fred Rogers
Suicidal Ideation or Thoughts of Suicide & Ketamine Therapy
Several studies, including Abbar et al. (2022) clinical trial of 156 patients admitted to the hospital for suicidal ideation has shown ketamine infusions to be effective with a rapid and long-lasting remission of suicidal thoughts. Various studies and clinical practice have shown that it's possible to attain remission (absence) of suicidal ideation or thoughts by day three after receiving just two low-dose ketamine infusions in a period of 24-hours.
